a guy who is using mugs and wearing t-shirts his kids decorated and feeling so loved that he thinks his heart is going to pop

in the vein of grabbing what joy you can with both hands i made a pomegranate julep with too much bourbon and a ton of mint to try to smooth out all that bourbon and sat on the porch with the dog to listen to the rain on the tin roof and it was really nice

and very intentionally pretending the next day isn't valentine's day because he doesn't want martin to be overshadowed by the holiday like he was for most of his life, today is martin day and it's all about loving martin, that other day doesn't exist until it happens

jon is letting their kids make a questionably flavored and decorated cake and helping them cut shapes out of construction paper to decorate and spraying martin with a bottle of vinegar when he tries to do chores because it's his birthday he's supposed to be relaxing the laundry can wait

can't believe i didn't talk about the day i picked to be martin's birthday yesterday. anyways happy day after the day i picked to be martin's birthday day bc i thought it's fun if there's a whole day dedicated to loving people and he missed the mark

the out-loud part is so essential,,, usually my embroidery machines are loud enough to drown out my annoyed jingles about being in Scenarios and Situations or the verbal to-do lists and problem-solving i do through the day but the machine stopped and i was too irritated to bother shutting up

in the end i was the one who put my last spool of isacord poly thread 5500 limedrop color in the wrong place anyways but i still think the river thing was an appropriate solution to my problem

in my defense the minor inconvenience that inspired it was right on the tail of ten thousand (10,000) other inconveniences that were slowly fucking up my entire day's workflow and at the moment i really did hope i would be eaten by a catfish the size of my car

coworker caught me singin a quiet little song to myself about how i was going to throw myself into the river

part that. part picking places with infrastructure for super bowl crowds, not just nfl crowds, especially luxury accommodations for the rich attendees. usually in warm places to avoid major winter weather. plus it's chosen years in advance and there's no telling who'll get there when it's picked.
