2025's also been a year of self-realisation, where I've discovered & can be far more honest about who I am & what my boundaries & sore spots are, which I could never really grasp before. Had a lot of mental health difficulties through the year, something I desperately need to improve in 2026.

2025:

Pretty bleak year for the world in general terms, but I can't even remotely complain on a personal level as my year's been generally pretty fantastic! New, satisfying job, getting back into competing, flying to the other side of the world with my girlfriend - all truly delightful things ❤️

And with that, Legends Z-A is finished!!

Ended on a rather sour note, unfortunate since some of the decisions made in the DLC were truly baffling, infuriating, & very poorly executed, but overall enjoyed my time with it far more than not!

Definitely prefer it to Legends Arceus

Extra special shoutout to Rotom being so rare that I've done ~100 Special Scans, caught every Legendary & Mythical, seen every other possible Special Scan type multiple times over, & still not encountered a single Rotom wormhole. Only thing I need for the dex & it's rarer than literal mythicals

I hope whoever made Special Scans the way they are slips on banana peels at inppportune moments every day for the rest of their existence

Mega Dimension is sapping away a lot of the goodwill I have for Legends Z-A, it exacerbates all of my least favourite parts of the game & there's been at least 3 times where I've experienced something & thought it was one of the worst most baffling design decisions in all of Pokemon

People have had misgivings about how Den was run or not having a great experience, & I don't blame them too much, the TOs also had very unfortunate circumstances midway through they couldn't really control too.

Despite all that, had a cracking time & will absolutely come down South Wales again! 🐉

Fairly standard bracket, not especially happy with my play overall, bits of good gameplay here & there, but am being stonewalled by people levels above me, & the catastrophic journey to accom going home from the social ruined things a bit from me, limping a lot now.

Don't think I've ever had to take anxiety medication before until now, actually what the hell is wrong with me & why isn't this perpetual sensation of dread disappearing..

Thought a good night's sleep would quell the demons within, woke up again with the same lingering stench of anxiousness & hollowness topped off by a bubbling irritability, not sure I'll be getting better anytime soon with the full day shift to power through

feels like everything creates anxiety of some sort within me the past few months, worrying about how I might ruin important events/arrangements, how things could go wrong due to outside factors, how I won't measure up to expectations, the inevitability of my own deterioration. I feel deeply broken

sometimes the urge to disappear & not have to live through everything you know rapidly deteriorating in real time while you're powerless to stop any of it seems disturbingly comforting

Every day feels more & more difficult to make it through & see the upsides. I feel distinctly agitated, exhausted, & continually anxious about the utter bleakness of this planet. Finding it harder to see any kind of positive future with each passing day, need to break free from this sickness.

Really happy seeing @pmstudios.bsky.social giving Yooka Re-Playlee a physical release on Switch 2. The way it should be. Can't wait to test more Switch 2 physicals.
