I had a fun enough time with the first one just as like, turning my brain off and hitting action game buttons, but there is absolutely zero of the story I remember. If it plays even mostly the same I think I'll enjoy it... once I can buy it like half price on sale.

For some reason we've decided to prioritize rushing players through the early game, instead of using it to teach ideas that are all being used now! It's the same problem with telling people "just skip X expansion it's not important" boy I hope you love not knowing any characters when they come back!

You need to take some action to be allowed to harm the boss? Here, learn through trash pulls that the boss is vulnerable in crystal light and then kite it to crystals in the boss! Wait, sorry, we removed all the crystals, just hit it till it falls over and learn absolutely nothing.

Unmarked AOEs are scary? If only there was a boss in the 40s with long, slow wind-ups and no markers to teach you how to read a move name or animation and learn where to dodge! Sorry, we decided to give coincounter markers several patches ago, so nothing will teach you that lesson now.

I'm on board with dunking on people who say they've made normal XIV content too hard, they've basically asked us to think the smallest amount and that's so much nicer than the last two entire expansions. But I can't fully blame them when design philosophy seems to be removing learning from the game.

I'm ostentatious and always use the Odin sword, but when I'm making a more simple look the low level... I think it's just called Iron Shortsword? Is plain but nice looking.

Like, I'm certain Beastmaster will be a lot different, but I am begging for them to just think about it as a whole and make it all work together instead of falling over at the last hurdle.

But we're stuck ten below! That's fine, let us do content we need to get spells just by queueing in DF! Nobody doing like, Shadowbringers content is going to have their run ruined by a BLU. Just lock us into our mimicry on queuing and run us as that role, 99% of us will be dps anyways.

It *does* suck overall, because of every choice they made put together, but if any single one was different it would be completely acceptable! If we could be current max level? Cool! Don't let us in the duty finder, we could fuck up people doing new content for the first time, I get it.

Seeing people talk about BLU in ffxiv again because Beastmaster is getting closer and closer, and I just can't deal with people wholly condemning everything about BLU. Blue Mage is my favorite job in the series, I would have loved it to be a job I could use anywhere, but this was still mostly fine.

I think a slime can only be counted as multiple if you can physically separate them. If the stack is bonded, that's one slime, otherwise it's three.
