While I know there are a lot of valid criticisms of the Olympics in general, I have loved watching the Games since I was a kid. Its particularly uncomfortable to be Team USA, so I'm going to put my heart into cheering for the athletes, their hard work, and the families and cultures they represent.

I think I get what you're saying but representing your country is inherently political. Further, should we not consider the politics of Russia when deciding if they are allowed to participate in the Games?

That said, these incredible athletes represent the people of the USA, not the US Government.
