13.01.2025 16:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was sure I would hate it without the Duke but to my surprise I like her better with a man who shares the same values as her father. I hope they make a season 6. #missscarlet #PBS
13.01.2025 03:01 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0This had too many characters with either the same or similar names (which was important to the plot, but still annoying). Overall, though, it was entertaining enough. #Books #OldNovels #Romance

Ah, there are a small number of missing words at the end of Chapter 6 in the version I'm reading (Project Gutenberg). The full ending of Chapter 6 is here (Internet Archive): archive.org/details/alan...
01.01.2025 13:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's enjoyable so far and very easy to read. What's interesting is its depiction of life in England and Wales during the First World War. #reading #books
01.01.2025 13:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm starting the new year by reading a 106-year-old #romance, The Land-Girlβs Love Story by Berta Ruck: www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/74644
It features Joan, who flees the city & reinvents herself as a Land Girl.
Seems appropriate for New Yearβs Day, when many of us feel the need to embrace change.
I wasn't ready for it to end either. I didn't go into this season with high hopes because of the Duke's departure, but #MissScarlet did a great job with Inspector Blake. It's the most seamless "replacement" of a love interest I've seen in a long time.
31.12.2024 12:44 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0@pbs.org Absolutely love the new season of Miss Scarlet. Tom Durant Pritchard did an awesome job.
15.12.2024 16:51 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The note calls it easy to read, and yes, I agree!
30.12.2024 22:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm reading Berta Ruck's His Official FiancΓ©e, published in 1914, and so far, I'm surprised by how contemporary it feels (despite the far-fetched premise).

Finished Season 5 of Miss Scarlet and loved it! The mutual respect between Miss Scarlet and Inspector Blake is refreshing. He sees and appreciates how impressive she is.
