I tried something new recently - #linoprint on tshirts. Made for my niece and nephews, the designs are interpretations of the meanings of their given names. Enjoyed creating something so personalised for 3 special people. Would like to explore this idea more. #printmaking #linoprinting #handmade

One of my favourite silhouettes by Battista Baj. Cut from black paper with scissors in the 1900s, probably in Italy, with some shading added in pencil. The cutting of the wing collar and spectacles is really great.

Working on my first ever #linocut commission … a friend asked for a nz-summer themed Christmas card design. This is a pohutukawa blossom (known as the nz Christmas tree because it blooms bright red on green in December). Planning to print in black then overpaint in red, green and gold.

They are cool … I love how some of the leaves slight overlap with the frame … makes them pop … I’ve been playing with bookmarks too and I’m going to steal this idea!

One of the things I like about reduction is the little overlapping not quite right bits … give each print character in my view! But it is also interesting to play with registration tabs and jigs to get it all lined up. I’m bracing myself to start on an A3 sized reduction with 5-6 layers. Gulp!

This is a photo of some bundles of greeting cards which are tied with twine. They are all reproduced from my original linocuts and have design elements taken from foliage, flowers and seed heads. Some of them also have patterned borders with dots, scallops and stars.

I'm putting some greeting cards together for a couple of customers and enjoying the satisfying mix of colours and pattern.

This was a neat little experiment - the challenge from our local print club was to incorporate something recycled in our #printmaking. I had been hoarding used #teabags for a while, so ended up making these cute little #linocut minatures. #tea #linoprinting #teapot

I've ditched insta and twitter - never felt better. Bsky #linocut feed is my only social media these days ... and not on my phone. Glance at news headlines once a day, make occasional tangible contributions to social change (e.g. through action or donation) make things, grow things, play, seek joy.
