Game theory is basically the mathematical modeling of decision making processes. Or rather "strategic interactions" according to wiki. It does however typically describe purely rational actors. And humans do sometimes give in to their emotions.

If there's a pattern, if the gaslighting keeps on repeating, if there's an identifiable purpose for this behavior (in our case there is such a purpose: ruzzia wants to weaken the west, so they can take over Ukraine faster) - then it's even clearer that we're talking to someone with bad intentions.

You can figure out from the course of a conversation if someone is acting in good faith or not. If they're honest or not. If they try to gaslight you, to outright ignore reality to push their narrative, that's a clear indicator that they're NOT acting in good faith, for example.

On this subject specifically, I'm not sure. I don't know if you're familiar with the youtuber William Spaniel. The "lines on maps" guy 😀. He also wrote some interesting things, like a book on game theory, for example. Also some scientific papers. Could be relevant here.

For example: OK, if we don't allow for tagging, what could happen? Disinfo would flood the network. Could we deal with that problem? If so, at what cost? On the other hand, assume now we allow for tags, what could happen? Bad use of tags. Could we deal with that? If so, at what cost?

I'd say we should always keep our common values in mind, yes. And adhere to them as best we can. As for making the distinction between advantages and disadvantages, I try to imagine various scenarios and do a cost-benefit analysis of sorts for each one.

ruzzia however does not debate in good faith. It uses information as a weapon to try to destabilize and weaken our societies. Such behavior should be discouraged. Strongly, imo.
