So I bow and ask for help
For the trials I’m going through
I empty out my heart and self
Just like He said to do
I need direction every day
I listen for His voice
He guides me in His holy way
With every prayerful choice

Jesus said his yoke was easy
He said his burden was light
But the more I lean on Him
The more I see he’s so right
I’m so thankful for forgiveness
Yes, grateful for everything
The problem is the human world
And the heartache that it brings

“Daily Bread”
All I need is my daily bread
A simple roof over my head
One or two loyal friends
And a warm, soft, dry bed
It should all be so simple
Life shouldn't be so hard
Worries would fit in a thimble
If our lives weren’t all broken shards

Shadows loom but I still have hope
Because you are my strength
I’m in your sights and in your scope
And you will go to any length
To protect me with your love
Send your angels from above
Hold me safe within your hand
This weary, worn and desperate man

My heart is heavy with grief
I can find no relief
Troubled thought wrack my brain
Yet the problems remain the same…. 
Lord, my life is such a mess
All I want is to go free
Save me from my distress
Only you can rescue me

“The Withdrawal”
I wanna withdraw
The world hasn’t been kind
Shelter me, Lord
Help is so hard to find
I wanna hide away
I wanna disappear
No one will be my friend today
Nor tomorrow, I fear

Today I have another day
Please fill me up with love 
And I’ll share what I’ve been given
Pure and holy from above
Another chance to feel Your glory
By the joy I have in living
Weave my life into a story
Of Your giving and forgiving

I’m no longer holding on
To this world and all its gold
I’m looking to a brighter dawn
That will never grow old 
I will work while it is day
To earn my daily bread
Troubles seem so far away
They fly right over my head

“Glorious Sun”
I’m sorry for so many things
In so many ways
So long I lived in error
So many years, so many ways
But what really matters now
I doing what is right
Walking in Your glorious sun
Without the dread of night….

The world is in such disarray
I’m powerless to make it change
Still I must live another way
To survive this world so strange
So I hope on you, my Lord
I can only live for you
Your Spirit guides me by Your Word
That shows me all I need to do

Am I the one you live to please?

You know everything my Lord
You know the reason that I weep
I know that you’re the living Word
Who’s winning battles while I sleep

“Do You Love Me More Than These”
I can’t refute skeptic voices
That desire to silence me
It’s just my job to live in peace
And embrace sweet harmony 
I can’t answer all the questions
That keep bouncing off my head
But I know that God is good
So look to Him instead

Still we pray for them
It’s what we’re told to do
We send our prayers to heaven
Through skies so blue
And though we may suffer
We’d rather give our lives
Than bow our knees, surrender
Than be bought be their lies

There’s a great force arising
Across this land of mine
It’s changing and it’s binding
And there’s so little time
But right will prevail
Truth wins out in the end
Confounding the wicked
Who once were our friends

“A Safe Place”
Here on this hilltop
Under an ancient tree
Overlooking the River
That leads to the sea
This is a safe place
The Dark Lord doesn’t know of
Where I won’t see his face
And pray to Jesus above

I would love you if you were mine
At work I’d call you on my break
Think about you, all of the time
Plan vacations that we can take
Always proud that you were mine
Hold you as something good
Thank God for you everyday
And make you happy, I would

I would pick up your dirty socks
Do your dishes, too
Take our daily evening walks
Talk about the latest news
I would love every moment
Of life I could spend with you
And never regret having loved you
When my life was through

That looks like a delicious forest undercarpeting.

I would be happy to love you
I’d love you forever
Sometimes we’d argue
But we’d always be together
I would tell you what’s on my mind
But I’d listen to you, too
I’d consider all your advice
Do my best to do things for you

Wow!!

It would be impossible for any honest courageous soul to see anything but a small, mean-spirited pismire in Trump.
