😁 definitely. I've always been 'honest' to the point of being rude and a bit intimidating, so my first response would always be that default position. I've realised over time how this can come across, so I'm a lot more careful now. People online have the idea that I'm calm and laid back, I'm not. 😆

One of the best lessons I ever learned was not to respond to things immediately when I'm annoyed or upset. I never do that now, I made too many rash judgements, hurt people, or hurt myself. I do the old thing of 'sleeping on it', many times my responses have been vastly different as a result. 😁

By the way . . . yes, this was my actual first copy of the book . . . no, I hadn't previously opened it, this clip is me seeing it for the first time . . . yes, the castle was made from the entire packaging which the book arrived in, and I still have it . . . and no, I didn't make it that quickly. 😆

Thanks Marianne, that's lovely to hear. I've mentioned that to a few people, I think most kids from about 8 up would cope with the majority of the instructional parts (which is most of it)

Would so highly recommend this book to any teachers, parents or crafty folk. Such an invaluable and inspiring resource. And even though it’s aimed at grown-ups working with kids, my son was able to follow the instructions and create stuff on his own aged maybe around 10.

A sculpture of an enormous Birthday cake create by the students from Westfield College in Weymouth in just one day. The school is 50 years old this year, so we build this cake as a celebration display, topped with a kestrel, the school logo.

A painting I did of the facade of Ingestre hall, the arts centre where I began working with children in 1991. I'd been there myself for a week as a boy from school.

21 years ago, just as I set out as a self-employed artist, I painted a picture of the place where my career began, to remind me of what it meant to me. This is Ingestre Hall Arts Centre in Staffordshire, where everything I do now began to take shape. 🙂

I finished off a busy week with an online workshop to all of the children at Naunton Park Primary in Cheltenham. They are beginning an art project all about 3D work, and using my work as the inspiration! 😮 They were full of questions.

Me making 'space' themed artwork today in an online session to a group of Year 6 pupils in London. I showed them how to make rockets, astronauts, and planets.

Me making 3D 'cityscapes' today in an online art session inspired by the work of Nathan Walsh.

A busy day . . . three online art sessions, all to London schools. Three different themes, 120 different kids. I'm looking forward to seeing what they all make. 🤔
