New Shared Use Path in South Salem
The west side of Battle Creek Rd SE between Foxhaven Dr SE and Eastlake Dr SE, alongside Mahonia Crossing, now has a shared use path. With this new grade separated bikeway connecting with the Woodscape Park Pathway, there is now a protected and safe way for bikes to travel running about 1/3 of a mile in South Salem.

Bike Box
Thanks to our advocacy at the Bond Oversight Committee, Salem now has its first βBike Boxβ at the intersection of Liberty and Trade. A bike box is a designated area at the front of travel lanes at stop lights that provide bicyclists with a safe and visible way to get ahead of stopped vehicles.

Green Paint
Right-hand turn lanes which cross bike lanes are a dangerous conflict point. Our advocacy prompted the City to put down more green paint at key intersections. This year, City staff painted key intersections increasing the visibility of people who bike.
