Oh yeah I don't expect anyone facing off against imperialism in any part of the world should give two shits about my opinion. But I do think leftists here should be having these debates, so as to better accomplish the goals you point to.

I suppose it depends on the context you're saying it in. And I think the context in which the author is intervening is an increasingly authoritarian left that has a troubling discourse about the "Axis of Resistance" (in my own context at least I see that happening here in Mtl)

No, I'm saying that the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy. I want the left to support people and their uprisings rather than states. Down with Iran, down with the U.S., see?
