If reporters weren't more concerned with access, this framing would apply to them too, whether it's Trump claiming to have the best numbers ever or Mike Johnson saying he's unaware of any negative news story.

How can reporters keep hearing Trump lie to their faces, by saying "I have the best numbers for any president in many years," and not challenge or correct him? "No you don't, you have the worst poll numbers of any recent
president. So is someone on your staff lying to you or are you lying to me?"

Reporters act like they’re visiting grandma in the memory care unit and the doctors told them it’s best if they just let her talk.

They own X, Fox, WaPo, & through Sinclair, local newspapers, tv & radio stations across the US. When the newspaper on your doorstep agrees with the talk radio station in your pick-up and the local newscaster on the tv and they all say it’s the Dems fault, You just can’t help but believe it.

And that care about health insurance and SNAP benefits when they recently voted on a party-line basis to gut both programs as part of the BBB which they crow about.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 84th day out of the last 96.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

It will be interesting to see what happens if Democrats make large gains in all the statehouse elections November 4th. Especially in red districts.

At least a few of these long sitting Republicans have got to be thinking of retirement about now. Ones that have spent years in congress and have now effectively been neutered & ordered to submit. They should just take their insider trading millions and blow it all up on the way out the door.

My Rep, Chris Smith (R-NJ) has a crappy record on abortion, but he has always been a strong proponent of USAID and penned anti-trafficking & victims rights legislation. The last few elections he has had to deal w/primary challenges from MAGAs. He has got to be hating his job right now.

No thought ever of future generations with this Administration. Just how much money can I stuff in my pockets right now.
