Our taproom is open as usual on Saturdays, plus the last Sunday before Xmas (21st Dec) for our end of year party and pub quiz. Help us drink the bar dry and get your last minute Xmas gift packs, minikegs & merch. After 21st Dec we'll be closed for a few weeks for our winter break.

Correct. We have a lot of old poorly insulated and poorly ventilated buildings. We also have a lot of rented homes where landlords haven't installed insulation or double glazing, and a lot of leasehold homes where 'owners' can't make improvements without the freeholder's permission.

Vile is right. Since having a stroke my mother needs 24 hour care. This is directed at the amazing people who have looked after her over the last years, all of whom have been incredibly skilled, as well as caring and patient. Carers are not unskilled and are needed. They deserve respect, not this!

Just checked and the latest (2021) census for England as a whole shows 24% of households do not have a car or van, in London including the suburbs it's 42% and our bit of inner London (Southwark) it's 60%.

Same. My working class Irish family that emigrated to London had exactly this expectation. Both my aunts and one uncle went to work at 14. My other uncle was bright and somehow managed to get a degree after national service. My parents got jobs at 18. They made it clear to us uni was not optional.

This Saturday we're back at The Platform Cafe, over the road from our taproom, for our next Curry Night cooked by the fabulous Viz Sag. Drinks from 4pm, bar snacks from 5 and dinner from 7.

We're not taking bookings, so get there early to grab a table.

Maybe a stag beetle larva, if you get those where you are. They're huge and live in dead wood.

It's a great place for a relaxed drink just metres from all the crowds along the south bank. We'll really miss it.
