02.08.2025 20:48 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1It is not lost on me that we currently don't have a United States Poet Laureate. Ada Limรณn's second term ended in April. I don't know if there have been other gaps; all of the information I can find suggests that the Poet Laureate position has been filled officially since 1985. 1/3

21.04.2025 19:42 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Photo of author: medium-brown femme with curly hair, foliage in background. Text: I have been thinking very much about belonging โ not in terms of ownership or possession, but what it means to have acceptance as a natural and purposeful part of something. These early months of the year in particular, forces are out here trying convince so many of us that we donโt belong or have a right to the existence earth summoned us for. Eco-chick that I am, I know that we belong not only on the earth, but to it. I know that we rightfully deserve to love the earth and each other, and to have these stories of our collective care on and with this planet, heard. To that end I am celebrating this Earth Day with a sale in collaboration with The Lupine Collaborative, The Lupine Collaborative is a literary organization advancing environmental and climate justice by abundantly resourcing Black women, non-binary, and transgender environmental/climate writers to ideate, write, and build toward a liberatory future.
Text on blue gray background: The Lupine Collaborative The Lupine Collaborative envisions a world where Black women, transgender, and non-binary people can access joy, liberation, and environmental/climate justice in their lifetimes. We do this through: Writing Retreats An opportunity for writers to focus on craft & content. Writer-in-Residence In partnership with Milkweed Editions, we support writers with financial and capacity-building support to hone their craft. Creative Grants We provide one-time grants for writers to further their existing work.
