Oh, I fully expect the Republicans to put forth a bill making sex with a child legal & their supporters will be 100% behind it.

If someone doesn't trust doctors then why in the world should they waste the doctors time?
That will hit a lot of Trumplican's very hard.
12.11.2025 19:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just realized, this means that the Dem senator can now be sworn in & finally have the Epstein files released.
Perhaps there is a 'method to the madness' behind the Dems decision.
How many people can continue to support Trump if he's shown to be a pedo? What about other senators etc?
IMO the issue was that SNAP payments were being withheld & millions of Americans were facing starvation.
In some ways this is a great wake-up call for MAGA - those that depend on SNAP & now realize the payments will end might just be the turning point.
Perhaps, but the Dems couldn't stand by & watch millions of Americans starve TODAY.
In some ways it might be best to let the Republicans do what they are going to do. When MAGA find that HC has drastically increased & their SNAP payments will end shortly they might finally turn on Trump.
Perhaps the Dems were thinking 'We cannot stand by & watch people starve to death'. We can fight the healthcare issues another day - most likely when everyone see's how high their premiums go & start complaining.
10.11.2025 17:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Worse is the number of mothers (in the USA) that have no pre or post natal care because they have no healthcare coverage.
It is the main reason why the USA rivals third world countries in the infant mortality rate.
IMO it is also one of the reasons some women chose abortion, they can't afford the HC
I've seen posts by the CPC supporters that want to go back to private healthcare. They seem to think the cost would be similar to what it was when we did have to pay for (last I recall was $50/mth.
When I've stated it will be more like $800/mth the refuse to believe it.
I'll have to look it up. Probably some type of herb or something.
10.11.2025 16:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Stunning how much 'stuff' we can accumulate (even in a short period of time).
My rule of thumb (for most items) is 'If it hasn't been used in the past one to two years OUT it goes'.
Time to hold those homeopathic doctors accountable.
Treat them like any other doctor & put some rules in place. Force them to show how many of their patients recovered & how many ended up dead (or in a hospital fighting for their life).
Or better still do allow them healthcare but only allow the type of services that would have been in use 100 years ago (provided by the anti-vax doctors).
10.11.2025 16:11 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Yup, thank the pro-disease folks. Those people that do not care about their kids & are willing to risk the life & well-being of their own children.
Just too bad it's not the anti-vax parent that ends up with the issues that measles can result in.
So he wants his HealthCare taken away (no longer a perk of the job). Then he can decide if he wants to buy it or not....

05.11.2025 15:13 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0IMO the reason they lost is because those that don't normally bother to vote finally saw the light on what their inaction can & has resulted in.

I 100% agree!
Yup, one of the first things PM Carney did (as PM) was hold a ministers meeting where he told them he intended to cut budgets & gave them 3 months to come back with their plans. So no surprise there.
05.11.2025 15:03 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0When the Reform party leaders speak of reducing pensions & benefits they are trying to appeal to the younger voters. Voters that think they'll never get old, can't imagine reaching 40, never mind 70.
Voters that don't understand mental health issues can hit at any age.
Very 'me me me'.
As I lived in Canada & the UK (as a child) I was able to experience both Halloween & Guy Fawkes night! Must say I preferred Guy Fawkes (penny for the guy was a lot of fun).

Rule one is do not drink anything while reading an AVK post (or a response) unless one needs their sinuses cleared!
Pretty sure a friend of mine has their old price list. Will see if I can get it.
They removed all mention of prices for the meat, but the internet is forever & he's really good at that type of thing.
It was a Halloween ritual at our house!
I still remember hiding when the wicked witch came on, she scared the crap out of me.
Watching it (as an adult) I can't believe my parents thought it appropriate for little kids.
