IMO the issue was that SNAP payments were being withheld & millions of Americans were facing starvation.
In some ways this is a great wake-up call for MAGA - those that depend on SNAP & now realize the payments will end might just be the turning point.

In some ways it might be best to let the Republicans do what they are going to do. When MAGA find that HC has drastically increased & their SNAP payments will end shortly they might finally turn on Trump.

Perhaps the Dems were thinking 'We cannot stand by & watch people starve to death'. We can fight the healthcare issues another day - most likely when everyone see's how high their premiums go & start complaining.

Worse is the number of mothers (in the USA) that have no pre or post natal care because they have no healthcare coverage.
It is the main reason why the USA rivals third world countries in the infant mortality rate.
IMO it is also one of the reasons some women chose abortion, they can't afford the HC

I've seen posts by the CPC supporters that want to go back to private healthcare. They seem to think the cost would be similar to what it was when we did have to pay for (last I recall was $50/mth.
When I've stated it will be more like $800/mth the refuse to believe it.

Treat them like any other doctor & put some rules in place. Force them to show how many of their patients recovered & how many ended up dead (or in a hospital fighting for their life).

Or better still do allow them healthcare but only allow the type of services that would have been in use 100 years ago (provided by the anti-vax doctors).

Yup, one of the first things PM Carney did (as PM) was hold a ministers meeting where he told them he intended to cut budgets & gave them 3 months to come back with their plans. So no surprise there.

When the Reform party leaders speak of reducing pensions & benefits they are trying to appeal to the younger voters. Voters that think they'll never get old, can't imagine reaching 40, never mind 70.
Voters that don't understand mental health issues can hit at any age.

As I lived in Canada & the UK (as a child) I was able to experience both Halloween & Guy Fawkes night! Must say I preferred Guy Fawkes (penny for the guy was a lot of fun).
