Hey, I'm updating this bc I've been reading Mieville's works in between other books. I'm currently near the end of The City & The City. It's truly gripping ! (I also really enjoyed some of the stories in Looking For Jake). Un Lun Dun didn't really do it for me though.

If you haven't already, I highly recommend his entire First Law series (start with The Blade Itself), the audiobooks are stellar and the character work is unprecedented!

I just finished Perdido Street Station by China Miéville

It's basically Discworld but fucked up.

The word building is stellar, it is filled to the brim with original ideas.

I didn't like most characters, and the ones I did like ended up in bad shape or turned out to be assholes.
