Second time in 3 days I’m posting this Vonnegut quote wrt AI.

The other day I saw a bjd pro-artist blog post an AI video of their dolls. Today, I went to follow a ceramicist grant recipient & saw the stupid AI caricature trend. I just don't understand it & it's exhausting trying to explain to people, especially artists??? why AI use is bad on so many levels.

If anything, you're not charging enough even with your price increase. I totally understand trying to keep prices low, but at the cost of your mental health and wellbeing, it is tough. Your work is beautiful and I hope 2026 brings all the good things to you!

Scroll on… WOW! That’s a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!… but the head looks oddly small…. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI ‘post processing’ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been ‘created’ by AI from scratch. This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We can’t even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.

It's so overwhelming; I feel genuinely bad for anyone dealing w/ the struggle of finding things that won't activate allergies. This happens a lot with corn allergies too - corn is somehow in everything. Drinking straws! Cheese shreds! And 90% of the time there's no list of ingredients. Frustrating!
