1 can definitely be ignored, 2 and 3 aren't great but they're not *quite* as bad. The Force Awakens wasn't bad and The Last Jedi was okay, but I thought The Rise of Skywalker was so bad that it ruined the rest of the trilogy for me.

Assuming the fan re-cut of Kenobi into a film is ever completed, that could also be inserted somewhere. I also don't quite get all the hate for Solo, it was a little cheesy at times but I enjoyed it.

The two hard and fast rules are that the prequels must come after ESB and that the sequels must wait until he's emotionally ready for massive disappointment.

Though I might wait until he's older then do Andor leading into Rogue One. And the sequels don't count as Star Wars.

Could also theoretically start with Solo or, alternatively, do the immediately before or after ESB.

Okay, got 5ish more years until I do this, but I think this is the order I'm going to introduce the kiddo to Star Wars:

1: Star Wars (ANH)
2: The Empire Strikes Back
3: The Phantom Menace
4: Attack of the Clones
5: The Revenge of the Sith
6: Solo
7: The Return of the Jedi
8: Rogue One

The one thing I will miss about living in Hampton Roads is some of the beer. There are some legit good breweries here that absolutely punch above their weight.

This is the most factual statement ever made about the Star Wars prequels (the sequels just needed to be burned and started over with, though). A competent editor combined with someone who could coax Lucas off the CGI train could have made some good movies.
