In September 1948, Robert Mitchum was busted for smoking pot at Lila Leeds' Hollywood Hills home. The arrest and two month jail sentence were supposed to end his career. Instead, his contempt for the whole thing made him even more popular. Happy Birthday, Robert Mitchum.
