The governor can delay special elections for months. Sylvester Turner died in March. He probably won’t be replaced until early 2026. Would be a shame for dems to lose a vote again for a year.

If a TX city sets up noise monitors the state might move in a similar vein to speed cameras to limit its use. Question for Tory if it would be better for the city to be proactive with the state legislature on this issue. Does it fall under CoH QoL or TX motor vehicle jurisdiction?
