Every tech "wonder" that claims to have this big of an impact, LK-99, NFT scams, they all end up either underdelivering, or just straight up not be what people think it is.

But I think they’re wayyy too far along in development for a drastic change like this. I’m still supremely glad we have it in development AT ALL… and it looking as pretty as it is :3

You would have a much easier assembly & production too, I assume, with only having to make a big steel can instead of a tapered nosecone lol.

I also feel like the blunted nose wouldn’t affect the aerodynamics *that much*… it’s a huge rocket, & aerodynamics matter the least amount during this stage…

I’d imagine, that having a blunter nose would enable the cargo doors to be much simpler, and the payload bay to have much more equal, cylindrical, volume. (Larger diameter/length modules for station building, for example.)

Regarding starship’s second stage, I still don’t understand why it’s so… pointy?
I mean, it does look sick as hell, you can’t deny the aesthetic appeal with a ship like that…

But, there’s so many advantages to having a blunter nose to the ship!
