For 77 billion you could have a legit moon base and send a scientific mission to every planet, at least

NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Completed - NASA Two technicians look up at NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope after its inner and outer segments were connected at the agency’s Goddard Space Flight

Holy moly: The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope construction is completed! That's fantastic news β€”Β much needed right now β€” and I am very much looking forward to when this beast launches. It has 100X the field of view of Hubble.

One. Hundred. *At the same resolution*.

Apparently every Chinese academic in any field of β€œinterest” to the PLA is getting their visa rejected for, more or less, presumptively being a spy. My friend’s visa is denied because she studies β€œneuroscience.” What she actually studies is jaw pain - but ICE is flatly rejecting all appeals.

The Real Stakes, and Real Story, of Peter Thiel’s Antichrist Obsession Thirty years ago, a peace-loving Austrian theologian spoke to Peter Thiel about the apocalyptic theories of Nazi jurist Carl Schmitt. They’ve been a road map for the billionaire ever since.

Actually cooked by by obsessing over this, everyone should read this if you want to understand the anti christ thing

This is just laundering Elons nonsense and his 180 on needing to β€œrescue the astronauts” long after nasa fully explained it all with an apples to orange comparison to China.

China had two space crafts available, one damaged and not flight worth. They did not have enough seats to get everyone off in an emergency, they had to go fast, butch and Sunni had a backup option in crew-8 capsule

There are major differences here. The US astronauts were on a test flight that was intended to last 10 days where as the taikonauts have been up there now over 200 days now.

Butch and Sunni were capable, prepared US astronauts who did a ISS expedition instead of coming home.

I don’t understand why they didn’t use the V2 that was working to check off some HLS requirements and instead used them to deploy dummy Starlinks. Seems obvious HLS is not a priority and hasn’t been for some time, only work we’ve seen on HLS is some renders in the past 3 years

The one thing an electric lacks which will hinder its acceptance by the public is autonomy. The ICE car makes use of a fully developed support system of gasoline stations, garages and part warehouses to assure that a car will continue to operate. The latter two will come as a natural result of a growing market, but the electrical equivalent of the corner service station must be developed since a driver who unexpectedly exceeds his vehicle must be provided with a way to complete his trip. A number of schemes are ossible. One simple approach will be to develop advanced high energy batteries to extend the vehicle range into the 100-200 mile class, increasing its usefulness and decreasing the possibility of a failure. Fast recharge schemes have been suggested, but average power levels in excess of 1 MW per vehicle would be required and it is unclear whether these power levels can be provided to a large network of stations. Battery exchange is available for fleet operations and could be used in emergencies by individuals. Another approach would be to install a small auxiliary engine in each car with a minimum performance and range capability to provide the driver with assurance that he can get home if his batteries run down.

a tyrant is ignoring the constitution, firing live artillery at americans, invading our cities, and tearing down the white house to build himself a palace

our institutions won't react because they're lost in a digital dreamstate, unable to decide what is true because of social media poisoning
