Here in Indiana, our Republican supermajority has made it easy for extremist groups to impose their small-minded views on schools and public libraries, controlling what we can read.

Matt Lillywhite on Substack I overheard a teenager at the library desk ask if she could get a card. The clerk said she'd need proof of address. The girl shook her head. "We don't have one right now." The clerk reached under the counter. "Then here's a temporary card. You can still check out books." Some systems prevent you from stepping through the door to a fulfilling life. Libraries hand you the key.

Tonight, I got to see Phil Rosenthal of Somebody Feed Phil and it may have been more profound than when I saw the Dalai Lama. He reminded us to find the joy in life, laugh more, and that immigrants make America what it is today. I wish I could bottle his joy for the days I need it most.
