Showcasing the new shrink power-up! Not only does it make you smaller, but it also reduces your weight, making jumps feel much lighter and more responsive.

I'm not quite sold on the current sprite design for the power-up though. Any ideas?

Thanks! Wonโ€™t happen. Until you exit the pipe, youโ€™re still invulnerable. Plus, you gain immunity for half a second when you take or lose a power-up.

Many of them change the physics, so you wonโ€™t be punished for that!

Just implemented the Ghost power-up. For a few seconds, you become invulnerable and can pass through pipes, though you'll slow down slightly while inside them.

Progress feels great ๐Ÿ‘ป

Yeah, plus, as you can see from the video, I gave the bird a short but vital immunity window. Since the physics change requires players to recalibrate their input logic, small mistakes in those first microseconds shouldn't be punished.

Itโ€™s a mix of things: I set the engine speed to 0.7, but I also tuned the gravity, flap strength, and max velocity during the slow-mo; otherwise, it would have felt sluggish, like you said ๐Ÿ˜‰

First up: the Heart. It grants a second chance if you hit a pipe or crash into the ground, keeping the run alive just a little longer.

It's essentially Aseprite, but fully functional on iPad and iPhone.

At the moment Iโ€™m looking for something very easy, otherwise Iโ€™d feel overwhelmed by everything Iโ€™m learning ๐Ÿ˜…
I tried Bosca Ceoil, and another user suggested Deflemask. Both are free and run on macOS, which is required for me.

Wow, it looks cool and easy to use. Iโ€™ll definitely give it a try! I just tried Bosca Ceoil Blue and itโ€™s very cool too.

For FX, I found GodotSfxr and jsfxr online. jsfxr is very useful; I still need to test the plugin, which is basically the same but integrated in Godot.

Thanks for the hints! Iโ€™m actively studying Godot, but Iโ€™m also giving a look at GameMaker, since my first project will be 2D. Any suggestions? Iโ€™m not totally unfamiliar with coding, but Iโ€™m not an expert either.

I hope new Megas become a standard from now on, much like regional forms. Every new generation or mainline game should introduce a few.

It is the perfect cross-generational gimmick and would significantly boost interest in VGC.

Glad weโ€™re finally saying goodbye to the Scarlet and Violet era this year. However, based on the Gen 10 leaks Iโ€™ve seen so far, I canโ€™t say Iโ€™m exactly thrilled about whatโ€™s coming next.
