Even just trying to get information from TPG about their FTTB outage is like talking to a brick wall.
We’ve had no internet since the middle of the night. We pay them around $90 a month. Customer service is a joke.

Looks like @TPG_Telecom is out in Melbourne. Planned maintenance did not come back as planned.

We are both sick and waiting on a PCR result. And tired. But can’t sleep. Zero concentration.

This would be why a VicPol helicopter was buzzing over us for an hour this morning.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.

IMO, it's one of the greatest. Once you get into the overarching story you won't regret it. A few of the S1 standalone episodes are a bit rough. But it is definitely worth it. It's right up there with the Star Treks for me.

this is a battle-worn MacBook Pro from 2012, an ancient artifact of the precursor civilization. etched across its metal body are runes in the old tongue and it is adorned with decorations presumably of strong religious significance.

its display is working but a small constellation of broken elements are occasionally visible in use. the SSD, containing presumably vital data of immense archaeological worth, has unfortunately been removed. the official batteries, long dead, have been replaced with an aftermarket set that also appear to have reached their end of life. a hardware fault prevents this computer from booting or installing an operating system successfully, very frustrating for our scientists who were keen to explore the seemingly impossible technology of this bygone culture.

perhaps an enterprising tech with an interest in restoring prehistoric machinery might find use in this item.

supplied with a working power supply in a similar state of physical degradation.

I pride myself in writing silly descriptions for useless eBay items I'm selling which will make me no money and which only interest people who won't give a single care about the description
