β€œTax. The. Rich.” The message from our new polling out today on the front page of the Daily Mirror.

Avoiding austerity & helping people with the cost of living isn’t free. Voters are ready for some tax rises - but only if the wealthy pay their fair share.

Instead of engaging in a peaceful transfer of power, Trump rallied supporters on Inauguration Day, told them to β€œfight like hell” and then sat watching on TV saying and doing nothing while those supporters rioted their way into Congress. Some BBC goof up doesn’t change that.

'Gordon Brown, Labour MPs, and voters agree: Act on child poverty now' - LabourList Gordon Brown, Labour MPs and the public agree - tax gambling companies and end child poverty now.

You can’t cut child poverty without scrapping the two child benefit limit, and you can’t be a Labour government if you preside over rising child poverty. Me for @labourlist.bsky.social on the route to getting done what Labour must get done. labourlist.org/2025/11/gord...

Higher taxes on the wealthy, especially via closing loopholes, is very popular in itself. Using the money to fund public services even more so. Labour made an election promise to ensure β€œthose with the broadest shoulders” paid their fair share and won a mandate to do so.

Starmer faces cabinet revolt over Budget tax rises driving wealthy away β€˜The trouble is we have crossed a line in trying to encourage aspiration. The non-dom change and the VAT on school fees have sent the opposite message,’ minister tells The Independent

Standing with my Jewish neighbours in the rain close to Heaton Park Shul. Antisemitism has been on the rise. When I go to Mass, there’s no security on the door. My kids don’t have drills to prepare for a possible attack. We can’t defeat hate with more hate, only with love, togetherness and action.

Our thoughts, love and solidarity are with the people affected by the heinous attack on the Heaton Park synagogue, and to the whole Jewish community in Manchester, Bury and across the country marking this holy and solemn day of Yom Kippur.

Antisemitism, hate and division can never win.

I joined @lewisgoodall.com to talk about the new polling we’ve done with survation. In the face of voter discontent about the cost of living a little and the NHS, the riskiest thing the government could do is to be cautious.

Seven Lessons from the new 38 Degrees x Survation polling Three and a half years out from a general election, the interesting stuff from a poll like this isn’t the fantasy league politics of predicting the make-up of the next House of Commons. What’s really ...

Change vs more of the same.

It's the cost of living, stupid.

Don't forget the NHS.

I'll be on with Lewis Goodall to discuss the MRP around 11am. Reform are leading in the polls but it's driven by people's cost of living struggles and worries about the NHS. If the government is bold on these issues, it can turn things around and build a progressive majority.

Nigel Farage set for Downing Street as Reform UK surges to 293 seats in shock mega poll | LBC The new major poll, from 38 Degrees and Survation, suggests if there was a General Election today, Reform would win 293 seats

We've just published a new MRP with @survation.bsky.social. LBC has the key pieces from the poll in their write-up here.

This poll has Reform short of a majority, and their lead is driven by anger about the cost of living more than affection for Farage.

Ready for change: public support for action on child poverty Earlier today, I hit send on a briefing paper to MPs and other key decision makers on new polling we commissioned on child poverty. I thought I’d share the key findings here too.

We've just sent new polling to MPs. I wrote it up here, but the TL;DR is: opposition to scrapping the two-child benefit cap has evaporated and has strong support with Labour voters, and voters back higher taxes on gambling companies to help kids in need. www.linkedin.com/pulse/ready-...
