Contrary to all the cries of groceries being expensive I don't think it's been this cheap here in 15 years. Just got boneless chicken for $2.59/lbs and boneless pork loin for $2.50/lbs. Also some 20-25 shrimp for $7/lbs which is pretty good for here.

I live in a modern home, it has central air 😂 It's hot *outside*. I ain't going back out there. 96F today, supposed to be 100F tomorrow. Typical August here. We get a couple weeks of just stupid hot. On the bright side, 10% humidity. Once the sun goes down temps go down into the 60s.

I haven't carried cash on me for well over a decade and I'm not exactly unusual, especially in urban areas. Anecdotally, I don't think I've ever seen anyone tipping in cash at the now cashless bars / clubs here in Denver. It's just not a thing people bother with.

Back when dodos still lived I have fond memories of getting $0 paychecks after taxes were taken out of my $2.12 per hour wage.

Given that almost everything is cashless these days a lot of that no longer exists (outside of businesses breaking the law). Almost every bar / club in Denver now is cashless and all that income gets declared. The days of only declaring 8% of your sales as tips and keeping a shoebox of cash is dodo

Right now we're in a revival in terms of spectator attendance so I'm not sure why you think that? WEC/IMSA with the new Hypercar and GT3 rules is pretty fantastic even if you're not a fan of where F1 is. F1 isn't terrible even with Mclaren dominating this year given 2026 changes coming.

They used to get at least half the drivers to talk, and show the media pen interviews for the rest. That was a massive improvement from the Speed / FS1 broadcasts of the past where only Buxton was actually at the track. Now it's just trash and FFS get rid of the annoying Italian guy 🤮
