There are similar organisations interstate and internationally and volunteering is especially crucial now in the USA where parks funding and paid staff have been massively cut.

Over the past couple of years, I have seen Generative Al creep rapidly into the television industry, and am not fond of it.
I don't want a machine to write my scripts. I don't want a machine to make my concept art. I don't want a machine to tell my stories. And have yet to hear an argument in favour of the technology that has any actual merit to it beyond the capitalistic need for cheap and quick output with minimal input. It's here to stay' That isn't enough for me to just wave away the contributions to the climate crisis, the plagiarism and copyright issues, the *horrific* ethical consequences, the workforce ramifications, and especially importantly for me asa science communicator, the fact that it is, by and large, the world's greatest misinformation engine. For anyone else working in science TV specifically - listen to the scientists you work with. Listen to your most dedicated audiences. Listen to the artists who have historically visualised your ideas. Adoption of and excitement for this technology is nowhere near as universal as it seems.
