It kept him from assessing his surroundings, shrouded in shadow, for a few moments. However, he quickly determined three facts about his whereabouts: The first, he was not at Baker Street. The second, he was tied to a chair. The third, whoever had trussed him up here was an absolutely dimwitted cuss.

Ok, something different, in honor of Memento Mori Day. I started a fic for a different fandom this past year... Didn't finish it, but it's calling to me again. So, I'll put a little WIP snippet here in hopes I'll post it at some point this year.
