Besides being hand-fed his breakfast, lunch, and dinner, sitting next to us at the table, he often gets a special catnip treat fresh from the garden after breakfast. He deserves it.

My computer workstation with various controllers, knobs buttons synthesizer, as well as two big monitors. On the left, we have the musical score for “in C”, on the right is the Ableton Live file in which I played the part of 16 performers, each part is color-coded as a column, with 53 measures being represented. It’s quite colorful, and it’s pride month, so why not?

Planning to do the solo performance of “in C” tonight in honor of Terry Riley’s birthday recently. It won’t be a short version. I’ll post when I’m starting soon.

Last night I had my dear friend @shiveman.bsky.social over teaching me piano tuning. It will take some time before I feel more confident about tuning the center octave temperament, but the rest is cake. Give someone a fish, they eat for a day, give someone a pole, and they look at you strangely.

Enjoyed hanging to gather and adjudicating with Grace Feldman and Jody Rowitch as well as Elaine Thoma for the NMS Young artist Juries. What a cool bunch of kids with so much promise!

If anyone is into competitions, the Van Cliburn is one of the more famous piano competitions, and it is being live streamed. You can also watch past events. Personally, I’m not crazy about piano competitions, but it is fun to watch as a sports event.
