The problem in NC is not the idea of a mask ban stopping them! It’s that public health has failed at messaging entirely and most people don’t WANT to wear them. And vulnerable patients are listening to anti-mask HCW’s and family members. In the biggest and most liberal cities and hospitals.

Cops that harass people are going to do it regardless of you wearing a mask. They will just accuse you of shoplifting, etc.

Do you even live in NC? I wrote to every single legislator multiple times, called offices, went on the news and in newspapers. Current ncga is not going to change law.

The biggest problem is that most people who need to mask are not masking! I’m talking cancer clinics and lung transplant clinics. HCW’s in clinics and hospitals. THAT is the bigger battle, not the cops. In North Carolina.

I’m saying they are currently not doing so. The law was intended to target protesters. I don’t agree with the law. Unless you are protesting, you’re more likely to be harassed by average citizens over masking than the cops.

Haven’t heard about any groups trying to overturn it. I was part of groups to get medical masking allowed. R’s are too busy loosening gun laws to bother with masks.

I mask every day in NC. While I’m a WW, I’d say that Black women are the biggest group masking. I have not heard of anyone being arrested for a mask. I follow ncpol closely.

Are you trying to discourage masking in NC, because that’s all your post does! Cops are going to target protesters whether they mask or not. They are not going after you at the grocery store or your dr’s office.

Masks are still legal for medical reasons in North Carolina. I helped make them legal!

The rush to destroy things like USAID and other agencies before lawsuits can stop them is to make it moot. When our stupidly slow judicial system finally moves to stop them it will be far too late. If all 10,000 USAID employees are home and projects abandoned it’s done. It’s evil.

If you work in healthcare and can’t (or won’t) wear a mask for your patient… you need to find another job.

Wearing a mask should not be optional. If a patient makes arrangements in advance, has their chart noted as “masks required” and you still say “No”?

I dragged my ass into Meals on Wheels for my kitchen shift today. Lunch was roasted chicken with apples and herb gravy, roasted potatoes, and mixed vegetables.
We sent out 737 meals, 169 special meals, and 574 frozen meals today.
I am a wreck, but our volunteers were kind enough not to comment.
