In a first past the post system it always devolves to a two party system (Duverger's Law). Until we get enough correct thinking people in office to overturn Citizens United and other awful campaign finance and voter suppression laws YOU WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

Oh ffs. Show up and vote EVERY TIME for the best candidate running. Even if that candidate disappoints you on many of their positions. And then have their office number in your phone and use it. Run for office yourself. Support a campaign. Knock on doors. Help raise money.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
