@cprekent.bsky.social's legal challenge over Turnden was disappointingly dismissed, but it brought a key legal clarification: decision-makers now have a stronger duty to actively protect & enhance Englandβs National Landscapes.
Thanks to everyone who backed the case. Your support means everything.
It wouldn't be the #KentCountyShow without CPRE Kent attending. Come along and see us tomorrow and this weekend (in our new tent....in the Woodland area). We'll look forward to chatting with you.

A large tree sits on the edge of a field, with the sun behind its branches. The Wilder By Design logo is in the top right corner
Once again we have headlines about the loss of a crucial natural asset, with news of an ancient oak felled in Enfield
A Tree Council report is now calling for a taskforce to save our ancient trees
Government must embed stronger protections in the Planning Bill

π§΅Planning reform that speeds up sustainable development *and* restores nature is worth fighting for. The #PlanningBill is currently one sided, weakening nature laws with scant benefit for biodiversity. But Ministers could get back on track for a win-win.

The Planning Bill is not the win-win for nature & building we were promised π¨
If the Bill proceeds unchanged, it will break new ground in the destruction of nature across England π₯
