We are 22 days into the year and I have already lived several small winters, lost some hope, found it again by spending time with this little weirdo and his siblings, and lost it immediately to the Toronto weather.

Also. He’s the cutest, right?

Toronto weather is keeping us all emotionally agile. -21c blizzard one day, +1c and melting the next. Cool. Cool. 😑

This account is basically Statler and Waldorf for winter weather. Fewer laughs though.

Most people are back to work tomorrow, but Toronto has put January behind another yellow blizzard warning like “proceed with caution, expectations will not be met.”

The winter is really wintering here this year. The small brown dogs are not impressed.

Normalize wearing pyjamas. Nice ones. To work, to play, to make dinner, to hang out with friends. They are just clothes that match and feel good.

Saaame. The kitten is very good and patient. Gus the chihuahua is a maniac and his sister Ella kind of wants to make friends but is easily led by her brother.

I didn’t intend to rescue this kitten. He sort of landed on my doorstep but now I’m in love.

One is getting there and the other is most definitely not. And when he barks, the friendlier one joins in.

He really wants friends.

I accidentally rescued a kitten. He is gentle, curious, and optimistic about friendship.

My dogs are still not on board weeks later.

I keep waiting for the moment where everyone settles in and the dogs stop the barking and chasing.

If you’ve been here: did anything work? How did it take?

Just watched the final episode of Stranger Things and while I thought this series lost the plot multiple times, I found it touching. Childhood, change, fear, love … The end reminded me a bit of how Six Feet Under ended, which destroyed me. Well played.

New Year’s Eve always makes me nostalgic for things I don’t even remember clearly. No idea what next year holds.

Pretty sure some of it involves robots.

Mammogram today. Deeply awkward. Necessary. Important.
If men had to do this, it would be redesigned within six weeks and include a pre-procedure survey, mood lighting, and a follow-up email thanking you for your courage.

The ghost stayed up because even it wasn’t ready for this timeline.

Toronto hasn’t seen snow this early in the season since the 1960s.
