He closes the lid and retreats from the trash can, apprehensively staring at it over his shoulder. After walking a short distance away, he comes to a stop as he leans forward to retch, nauseated.]

[Peppino anxiously checks his watch, stopping dead once he sees the time. In a rush, he hangs a sign on the front of the pizzeria-- saying “OUT FOR DELIVERY”-- and revs his scooter. It makes a loud whirring sound and kicks up a cloud of dust as he speeds off onto the road, his customers’ pizzas in tow.]
