And if you bake in a pot (the easiest way to do it) you really don’t even have to worry about creating steam. All you need to do is toss a few ice cubes in before putting it in the oven, but I’m not even sure that makes a difference.

I do something similar but I heat the pot at 500 for an hour, then decrease it to 450 when I put the bread in.
