They were granted their own town about 6 years ago. Not that there aren't plenty of Haredi living in Monroe, but they're no longer a majority for now.

The Town Board where I live has a Democratic majority for the first time since I moved here in 1993.

My town elected three Democrats yesterday to the town board. That's the first time in the 32 years I lived here that there has been a Democratic majority on the board.

The only saving grace in this particular situation is that since The Dotard has come back into power so many IRS employees have been fired, they won't have enough people to actively persecuted his "enemies".

When I was a kid, they used to have promotions where they'd give away the first of a set of reference books and then sell the rest for 49¢ every week. I got six of seven Rand McNally geography books, but we moved before we got the 7th - Africa.
