It’s also striking in the video how many of the agents jumped back after the first shot was fired. This suggests they were surprised, which means they had no reason to believe lethal force was necessary. Their own body language tells the story.

Even if he had a gun, and I think that’s not true, he was not free to use it.

AOC: An agency that is attacking U.S. citizens, kidnapping five-year-olds and using them as bait, and privately circulating the idea that they can violate the rights of Americans by busting down their doors—they deserve to be defunded, and I’ll take any step in that direction.

The focus on training misses the mark. Yes, many federal agents are sloppy and unprepared, but years of organizing against police violence have taught me that more training doesn't stop violence. It just makes the death-making more respectable (sometimes) and more expensive.
