Keir Starmer's planning to make former First Minister Vaughan Gething a Lord according to The Times.
Mr Gething was FM for 4 months.
His time as leader was overshadowed by a controversial Β£200k donation to his leadership campaign.
He stepped down after 4 ministers resigned.

Not a typical 'Celtic' head but nonetheless possesses many features which could suggest an Iron Age date π§π€
π· My own, last week
My tribute to my dad, who passed away last month in the UK.
He was a proud Indian immigrant *and* a proud British citizen.
His life story is one long rebuttal to the nativists, bigots and xenophobes.
Nearly 1 in 3 schoolchildren in Glasgow do not speak English as their first language. This is not diversity. This is culture smashing Reform UK will make this a big issue in our campaign.
A: Who gives a fuck apart from racists?
B: His figure is wrong. 71.2% of Glaswegian children speak English as their first language.
C: So that's 28.8% who speak it as a second and I'll bet you they speak brilliant English and that it's much better than most Reform voters I've met online.
"Addressing the issue of economic insecurity could stem the tide of Labour defections across the political spectrum. A hardline approach to immigration is likely to only appease the smaller group who are going to Reform (around 10% of 2024 Labour voters)."
Not sure it will even appease even them!

Today the news will be about the government's proposals for juries.
Please read this thread so as to be informed about the actual practical problems in the criminal justice system - problems which will not be solved by this misconceived and illiberal tinkering.

All seems very sensible to me.
Tucker Carlson is a rightwing conspiracy theorist and Putin apologist who was sacked by FOX.... yes FOX
BUT The Spectator is happy to pay him to talk down our capital city... despite it thriving and crime falling.
Whose side are you on Mr Gove?

19.11.2025 08:51 β π 23 π 10 π¬ 3 π 0By mimicking Reform to win back support, the Labour government is making a serious mistake. This race to the bottom emboldens Farage, punishes vulnerable people, amplifies racism, and undermines those working to hold communities together.
