The whole idea that we need to be excited is flawed. It's a job. We need someone competent, caring, and boring.

People have multiple facets. She was indeed right about many things and she certainly would have been a better president than Trump. But she does have some horrible ideas and has done some even worse things.

What I'm trying to say: for every progressive voter you win, you lose a centrist voter. Unfortunately Democrats need both.

I am certainly one of those voters who are upset about that. But even on this site I regularly get put on "Hamas supporter / Antisemite" blocklists maintained by centrist Dems for suggesting that Palestinian civilians don't deserve this. Dems are a big tent with very diverse opinions.

You're not wrong, but again, I doubt it would have made a difference. Republicans sell outrage, Dems sell sanity. The former performs a lot better on social media.
