No, not at all. You’re right. I think Seven is much more ‘produced’ than Rio. But I think that’s a symptom of a year’s difference in how music production was evolving. I seem to remember reading that the band thought it was overdone, too. Packed full of catchy tunes all the same!

So which track is going to make the drop cut playlist? Simple. Pop Trash Movie. It’s as good as Ordinary World. But maybe I’m the only one who thinks so! What would your choice be?

Yet, creatively, for me at least, the album flows from beginning to end and I don’t skip any tracks. Starting To Remember is beautiful and Lava Lamp has psychedelic layers to it. Throughout, the guitar is high in the mix which is always a plus for me.

The album spawned three singles which weren’t released everywhere…Someone Else Not Me, Last Day On Earth and Playing With Uranium. Commercially, the album is one of the lowest points of Duran Duran’s career.
