When a person making $50k a year has $36 tax dollars going to fund SNAP and almost $1000 going to fund corporate subsidiesβ¦ you know thereβs an issue.

30.10.2025 04:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Gratitude log day 178:
-the beauty that contrast created in autumn, rainy grey skies become a perfect backdrop for brilliantly colorful foliage
-crossing the threshold into a time where itβs not only acceptable but expected to put cinnamon in everything
-two snuggly dogs on my lap
Gratitude log day 177:
-solidcore interior doors (the difference in sound dampening is awesome)
-bidets (a cleaner body without so much paper waste!)
-wedge pillows (if youβve had pregnancy heartburn, you know)
Bingo. The fact that 1 in 8 Americans depend on SNAP for a basic need like food, goes to show that those corporate tax breaks, CEO salaries, and unchanging minimum wage (doesnβt keep up with cost of living or inflation) are the real issues.
28.10.2025 01:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0GENERAL STRIKE : THANKSGIVING THROUGH CYBER MONDAY. NO BUYING OR CONTRIBUTING TO CORPORATE AMERICA.
27.10.2025 18:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just yesterday, I was able to answer neighborβs request for nursery pots - ironically, I had been meaning to βget rid ofβ the extra pots I didnβt need. β»οΈ
27.10.2025 18:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was so fortunate to receive medicinal perennials from one of these groups from someone who had a surplus. I planted them in my yard, processed them, and now have medicine in my apothecary.
27.10.2025 18:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Are you part of any local βfreeβ groups?
I honestly think that these groups are the lynchpin of community. Offering what you have FOR FREE to someone who might need it is so important not just now but always.
Letβs hear all of the folks who have doubled down on advocating for big corporate tax cuts in recent spending bills because βthey deserve cuts when theyβre employing so many peopleβ
27.10.2025 17:51 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Gratitude log day 176:
-buying directly from a local orchard (chatting with the man whoβs ran it for 50 years)
-homemade chili and cornbread on a chilly evening
-the golden yellow hue of a fall Larch tree
50501 movement is calling for general strike over thanksgiving through cyber Monday. No supporting big corporations whatsoever. No Black Friday shopping. No cyber Monday shopping.
27.10.2025 02:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Funny how thereβs no money for SNAP or to pay the military but lots of money to build detention camps, fund Argentina, buy private jetsβ¦
27.10.2025 01:58 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0What could be more poignant at this current moment than the words of Marcus Aurelius:
"Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one!"
What if we collectively decided to not indulge in corporate consumerism this holiday season? What if, instead, we gave the gifts of freshly baked goods, curated secondhand items, locally made artisanal products, handmade pieces β or our TIME?
26.10.2025 14:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love this. Iβm so tired of everything needing a βsmartβ feature. We have a freezer from the 50s that will work forever because it doesnβt have an LED screen connected to Bluetooth and WiFi - it was made to be a freezer and functions thusly.
26.10.2025 06:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Gratitude log day 176:
-people who give you a little βhowdyβ wave when you pass them in your car
-an impromptu visit from my friend and her daughter
-using up food in the fridge and not letting things go to waste
-having a green thumb
The blue ridge mountains are so mystical.

25.10.2025 17:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The way that MAGA can completely ignore and effectively rewrite history for themselves is horrific - it would be comedic if it didnβt have such awful consequences for the rest of us. But I guess thatβs all part of being in an abusive narcissistic relationship.
25.10.2025 05:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Gratitude log day 175:
-my dogs
-a day spent with my mom smelling candles, drinking a coffee, and eating Chinese food

Words are magical. The language we use with others -and ourselves- is a spell. The music lyrics we sing are spells.
24.10.2025 18:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I want a world where my daughter will have easy and ready access to clean air, clean water, clean soil. A world where her food is healthful and plentiful - and no one goes hungry. I want a world where Nature and animals are revered, protected.
24.10.2025 00:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0MAGA keeps saying Trump is βsaving taxpayers moneyβ and βpaying down the national debt.β If that were true, why did the U.S. national debt just surpass $38 trillion, a record high in American history?
23.10.2025 14:33 β π 3106 π 990 π¬ 135 π 49Gratitude log day 174:

Herbalists,
Whatβs a βmust haveβ in your home apothecary?
For me, it is dried rose hips. I use these for teas (so much vitamin c) and skin products.
Making more fresh elderberry oxymel today. I am grateful to have the knowledge and resources to create medicine for myself and my community.
