i want to apologize for shitting on C++ in this post. i just am a spoiled rust baby now. C++ was my first language and I still love it and am happy to write in it again

i understand why torvalds refused c++ from the linux kernel, but accepted rust.

not to mention static analysis in c++ is basically impossible because the language is so complex! it's stultified over the years to become this monstrosity where even the most basic functions carry a great deal of warnings and setbacks

i will complain about rust being a bit too guard-railed sometimes but that's _way_ better than having to actually consider at every step, oh god is this gonna segfault because i forgot to subtract 1 from my index?

i do not miss c++. the amount of thinking i have to do just to get a basic program running.... kinda unacceptable from a design standpoint!!

real. i like neovim but it take a long time to set up. I've used LazyVim in the past bc it's meant to be plug'n'play, but there are enough rough edges that i switched back to a graphical editor after a while. hope Helix suits you better !!
