The World Health Statistics 2025 are out.
2000-2019 HALE rose by 5+ years, maternal mortality fell by 1/3, child mortality down >50%. In 2020 and 2021, COVID-19 killed millions, put health systems under severe strain and wiped 1.8 years off HALE.
