Wondering off the path, up the ridge. Beckoned by gleeful calls at the mossy walls to the south, my eye was dawn north. The golden rays cascaded through the fall trees of the Rivervalley, onto a gurgling drain jutting out from the swale and tagged with graffiti.

The scene: It's the 1950s. A dancer has been murdered and a mystery is unfolding. Two men sit on a bench in a dimly lit Moroccan nightclub. The detective is conflicted, the family distraught, the club owner, staff, and the boyfriend... nervous. The culprit will be discovered, but few saw it coming. Deep colour's and contrasts with in red and green ambient lights nearby. The main subject is the core detective, slumped back, the black suspenders contrasting his white dress shirt, disheveled, and his expression showing exasperation as his hands are open wide in his lap. Beside him another man, leaning in close to listen or question. He wears a dress shirt and vest, salt and pepper hair slicked back and focus intent through his black rimmed glasses.

"We thought it was open and shut, but we were wrong..."
