Unity can still be worth striving for—at least enough for peaceful coexistence. Conflicts won’t vanish, nor should we hope or fear it. The future may hide shifting values. So unity must go hand‑in‑hand with change, continually re‑asking what makes a good life and why utopian visions persist.
