There are certain theorists who I'd say were wrong about digital art but are right about AI slop, mostly because they saw digital arts as an extreme parody of themselves, and AI slop is, ultimately, an extreme parody of digital art (Slop being the raw & unchallenged output).

Kraken is quite a good name. I've been calling these kinds of collections sarcastically as gifts, but also just as dumps. Kraken suits better as encountering one has more excitement in it than receiving a gift or stumbling upon a dump.
