CrowdBucks is meant to work with other Fediverse software. It isn't meant to replace them.
For example, you can use CrowdBucks with Mastodon, Pixelfed, Misskey, PeerTube, etc, (and more later) to add funding abilities.
Right now CrowdBucks is MVP. More features and functionality are in the works.
After a brief demo at FediCon 2025, a new, open source fundraising system for the #Fediverse has been released to the public. It's native to the network, and you sign in using your own Fediverse account.

Thanks @reiver.bsky.social for arranging to have the talks recorded at #Fedicon and thanks @deadsuperhero.com for running a PeerTube video where the videos can be hosted.
I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be taking a trip to Vancouver, Canada, at the end of the month, to hold a panel at FediCon! A lot of my friends in the community will be going, many of them have been on my podcast. This is a birthday gift to myself, and I'm super excited for the opportunity.

What do you mean by "migration"?
Could you give me an example of the type of thing you are thinking of?

Trusted Verifiers are in keeping with our ethos -- that Bluesky shouldn't be the sole verifier, and that there should be systems that exist outside of us as part of a robust civic infrastructure. The world shouldn't depend on massive social companies as the sole authorities

A couple of quick thoughts on this before I disappear for my morning block of meetings
1. Domains are still valuable identity signals! Multiple methods are good to have
2. Identity verification will continue to evolve from here

Blueskyβs logo, a trusted verifierβs scalloped checkmark, and a standard verified blue check mark.
Weβre introducing a new layer of verification on Bluesky β a user-friendly, easily recognizable blue check.
In addition to account verification issued by Bluesky, we're also introducing Trusted Verifiers. Select independent organizations can verify accounts directly.
