🤓 Currently reading Hunter S. Thompson’s “The Charge of the Weird Brigade” piece on the Honolulu Marathon that ran in the 1981 edition of Running.

Off to Hawaii for the weekend! 🌺

They didn’t quit. They stayed in it. And when the standard held steady for 2028, they kept chiseling away at the many miles in training, kept believing and finally met the moment again. Now they’re headed back to the Trials in 2028.

Love to see it.

I think the coolest part to this is the arc and progression by several of these women.

A few of them hit the sub-2:45:00 standard for the 2020 Trials but then only to fall heartbreakingly short when the bar dropped to 2:37:00 for the 2024 Trials.
