US marathon record holder Emily Sisson shared the following reaction on IG after the news of Ruth Chepngetichβs positive test for a banned substance & provisional suspension.
Sisson ran her US record of 2:18:29 when she finished 2nd at the '22 Chicago Marathon β a race Chepngetich won in 2:14:18.

The positive test came 5 days after her only competition of 2025.

I believe this performance improves his World Ranking Score from 1158 to 1186 but he's still just outside the World Rankings Quota.
However, lots of points to be earned at the U.S. Championships and it's very likely that it will take a performance faster than 3:33.00 to make the US team for Tokyo.
Last night in Canada, NCAA 1500m champion Nathan Green made his professional debut and won a 1500m race in 3:34.97 for a season's best. Just shy of the World Championship qualifying standard of 3:33.00.
