My Lib Dem colleagues and I are demanding answers from South Western Railway about the reduced timetable over the summer months, including the serious lack of good forewarning.

This just isn't good enough. It doesn't work for working people across South London.

How about banning guns like every other country in the world?

Oh, no, wait, you need a well armed militia or something.

Insanity.

The failure of ATC systems today highlight more problems with the resilience of UK infrastructure.

We must wait for more information from NATS and CAA, but it’s clear Govt must move forward with proper resilience planning for all key UK infrastructure to avoid these sort of incidents.

Met Police to close half its front counters following budget The move would reduce police front desks across London from 37 to 19, and reduce the number open 24/7.

ICYMI: This story mustn't be allowed to fall under the radar. Lib Dems across London will keep making noise about this - we cannot get back to proper community policing if half of front desks in London disappear.

UK will recognise Palestinian state in September unless Israel agrees to Gaza ceasefire and other conditions - live updates Starmer says he would take the step at a UN meeting in September - but Israel accuses the UK of harming "efforts to achieve a ceasefire".

The PM must go further - Palestinian recognition shouldn’t be a bargaining chip.

The Govt should recognise Palestine now, halt all arms sales to Israel, and urge Hamas to unconditionally release every hostage.

The situation facing Ahmadis in Pakistan is unacceptable.

Human rights experts at the UN are right - Pakistan must take concrete measures to prevent extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests and attacks against places of worship and cemeteries.

🧡 I am asking for an urgent meeting with the Minister. I want to know if the Govt is serious about sorting out the shockingly bad situation.

We were promised nationalisation would lead to changes. Yes, change takes time.Β But the situation is unbearable. Sorting this out should be a priority.

Just last month, my Lib Dem colleague @paulkohlersw19.bsky.social and I raised this once again with the transport minister - but no commitment to a new timetable was forthcoming. Again.

🧡 I have raised this with Ministers several times - but they won't commit to serious action. My Liberal Democrat colleagues and I have written to the government to once again express our frustration at this latest update, and our further exasperation at continuing signal failures and overcrowding.

🧡 It doesn't work for working people who rely on Worcester Park station. South Western Rail and the Labour government are letting us down. The frequency is already shockingly bad - it is still operating a lockdown-era timetable. I receive emails every week from so many of you who are utterly fed up.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 🧡

You may have already seen the news that South Western Rail are implementing a reduced summer timetable from next week until the end of August - meaning trains from Worcester Park will be even more infrequent over summer.Β

Let me be very clear; this just isn't good enough.

Today’s announcement that OFWAT will finally be scrapped is a huge win for campaigners across the country.

Britain now needs a regulator with teeth, to stop the sewage scandal once and for all.

My liberal vision for a thriving economy I’m proud that once again it is the Liberal Democrats leading the way, with our vision for an economy that is growing strongly, where everyone feels the benefits.

Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey MP gave a speech setting out our Liberal Democrat vision for the economy at the IPPR earlier today.

Ed Davey is absolutely spot on.

Energy bills have been sky high for too long, and that's got to end. It's time the public are able to fully reap the benefits of cheap, clean power.

With the Lib Dem plan, we can halve energy bills within a decade.

We must fund hospices properly so that every dying patient gets the care, treatment and support they need | Parliament Politics Magazine Since my first few weeks in office as the Member of Parliament for Sutton and Cheam, I have been fighting for hospices.

Hospices need our care.

For too long, they have been let down, forced to rely on fundraising and treated as an afterthought in our healthcare system. But they do remarkable work at the most difficult of times.

Some thoughts on the campaign:

As the SAF Bill Committee gets underway, I'm pleased to be getting the chance to scrutinise this important law

We must enable the next generation of SAFs to unlock truly green aviation, so industry can do its bit to help us reach net zero. As a former aviation engineer - I know how important it is.

The fight for a fair funding future for hospices goes on.

I'm more convinced than ever that hospices need our care - and the Govt must listen to our calls for a new long-term funding arrangement to give hospices the certainty they need.

Last week's Sutton Community Soup was so heartwarming - and that's not just the soup!

This great project brings the community together to hear pitches from local charities - and to my mind represents the very best of our area.

Please forgive the unflattering soup-slurping pic!
